On the dark side of the moon, there is a highly developed civilization which is divided into two: the Takenouchi family and the Umenouchi family.

There's a highly developed civilization on the dark side of the moon, split into two clans: the Takenouchi family and the Umenouchi family. Takenouchi Kaguya is the daughter of the clan's Queen, Takenouchi Fumiya. Kaguya is the next in line for the queen's position, but she doesn't want it and wishes to enjoy life. Queen Fumiya has been suffering from serious illness for many years now, and her health has worsened. The Umenouchi family uses this opportunity to launch a coup and take the government over. Knowing she can't guarantee her daughter's safety on the moon, she sends Kaguya to Earth with a powerful katana that symbolizes her ownership of the moon.
